I've been meaning to write this for a while. It cracks me up every time Nathan says it. A few weeks ago, I was reading Oprah's exercise/lifestyle change book. I can't remember the title, but it has a picture of Oprah and her trainer, Bob, on the cover. Nathan studied the cover dilegently for several nights, and we talked about "Ah boke and Bob." Then we moved on.
We were turning into our subdivision on our way home, and I told Nathan to get ready, we were turning onto Oakbrook. He tested that out, and it came out very clearly. "Oak book." Then he added, "And Bob!" Oprah, Oakbrook. . .same difference! So now when we turn onto Oakbrook, we always talk about Bob.
We're getting ready for our vacation week. We're leaving tomorrow to trek across Kentucky. We're staying at General Butler State Park for a few days, then on to Louisville to stay with friends. Then we're headed to Bardstown to ride Thomas the Tank Engine!!!
I haven't told Nathan that we're going to ride Thomas. We'll probably save that for when we're on the way. Then after we ride Thomas, we're going to Grandmommy and Gramps' for a few days. It feels like forever since we've seen Mom and Dale. I think it has been a month.
Mom is having a small birthday get together for Nathan. With balloons. Nathan has seen birthday parties at "the club" and he knows that all parties must have balloons. And party goers should share their balloons with all interested babies. (Fat chance!)
I can't believe he's almost two! His words are getting much clearer, and I already miss some of the cute baby stuff. He said "beeshies" for so long, and now "fishies" sounds so grown up. I am hoping that "Na Na" hangs around for a while longer. I know he can't go off to college calling himself Na Na, but it's so cute!
