This is just about our lives - four cats, two kids, a musician and a preacher.

Again, I am shocked that this blog still exists.

My kids are now 11 and 8.  This has been a season of big change for us.  We're living in a city again!  That's a huge plus for me.  I know that some people love country living, but every day that I open my front door without a cow in sight is a good day for me.

My kids have started public school for the first time this year.  After five years of homeschooling, this is another big adjustment.  So far, so good!  Nathan will tell you that he loves school.  He makes friends easily and loves being with them all day long.

Lila enjoys school, too, but if you ask her if she likes it she'll tell you that it's a waste of her time.  She remembers all of her bike/TV breaks between subjects with great fondness.  She has forgotten all of the tears shed when she was so lonely for friends.

Here are some of the things I love about our new city life:

*I can walk to a fantastic public library.
*There is a Starbucks just down the road from that great library.
*Orchestra is taught in both the city and county schools here.
*My Symphony is here!  I can rehearse and perform and still be snug in my own bed before midnight.
*I have musician friends here!  Still not enough to make up a quartet, but I have friends here who understand what I do.
*My kids have friends in our neighborhood.  The kids go back and forth between the two homes.  We like the kids AND their parents!
*The city just completed a fabulous new riverfront park with a playground bigger than anything I've ever seen.
*There is another beautiful city park only a 1/2 mile from our house.
*It only takes 7 minutes to get to Target.
*There is a Starbucks in that Target.
*Orange Leaf is right next door to Target.

Check out that long list!  Life is pretty good right now.
